With his knowledgebase covering many aspects of the industry, such as Paint, MET, Light Vehicle, Body, HGV, PSV, MC, Marine and Agricultural, and still enjoying ‘tinkering’ with vehicles, John has a wealth of experience in the Automotive Industry to enable him to assess candidates both in their own workplace whilst working towards their NVQs, or in-house for their ATA (IMI) Accreditations.
John is Automotive Training’s Lead Assessor, including in the workplace so he travels to candidates’ place of work for their observations and is available to them for telephone support.
He enjoys being with candidates to impart his knowledge, and having been in Motor Vehicle education for 35 years, he is the ideal person to assist candidates to achieve.
Nigel Banks
MD / Lead Tutor
Nigel has over 40 years of knowledge and practical experience in various engineering sectors such as; Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle, Agricultural, Plant, Marine, Vehicle Body & Paint and Welding. He also has over 20 years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, So Nigel is able to put candidates of all disciplines at their ease. He provides knowledge and experience to the candidates in a more informal environment than a college or university, which enables the students to enjoy the training and feel that they can ask any questions of Nigel within their chosen discipline.
A qualified Assessor, Verifier and Welding Examiner, Nigel monitors many of the candidate assessments for their ATA (IMI) Accreditations in their chosen discipline, as well as observing the new MOT Testers conduct their MOT Test for their City & Guilds qualification.
